I have zero plans to contact any of the four sites (I found another after posting). I won't even contact AO3 when it's back up cause what's happened has already happened All I can do now is process the emotions that come up and wait to see what AO3 does about the three out of four sites still up
Post anzeigenThese copycat sites trying to sell fanfiction back to you are going to keep happening until AO3 is back up and running. So keep calm and email the domain holders en masse when applicable. The pressure from a thousand angry voices makes them fold every time.
Post anzeigenWith ao3 being down and seeing how many people read stuff but don't comment I wanna let all readers know that most if not all writers love any comment even just a 💖 will make my day
Post anzeigenThis AO3 fiasco has left me feeling so bereft. The speed and glee with which people's work has been scraped, stolen, copied, and put behind paywall, is absolutely devastating to see. But perhaps what is even worse is how many people seem to hate fic writers. View us as "content" machines. I'm sad 💔
Post anzeigenAlso, if you're remotely read into authors, the vast majority of us fucking hate ai, so being like, "whoopsie, didn't mean to hurt anybody" when we've all been so public with these sentiments is such bullshit.
