For some reason nice IR builders aren't a thing. The one LLVM has? Nightmare. The one cranelift has? Painful. QBE? Idk I never looked too deep, but they focus on textual IR representation in their getting started, which sounds like there's no IR builder API at all

Dune's Achilles heel is an S-expression-like structure followed by docs that barely contain any example forcing devs to go back to Makefile I do understand the hate opam gets with switches and everything. Dune was tailor made for a company so I understand the way it is
Post anzeigenOne of the reasons I struggled with Haskell back in the day was that the tooling was a challenge for me. F# helped a lot in that regard, I could work with the lang without getting stuck with the tooling. Each to their own though
