As a professional creator, being good at your craft is important. But being good at collaborating is just as if not MORE important. Your work is not you. Revisions aren't failures. Critiques aren't insults. You're ability to recieve and respond to feedback is one of the most important skills.

And let's be honest...patterns in notes WILL happen. Especially early in one's career. Learn to recognize patterns. If multiple editors, clients, or collaborators keep bringing up the same issue, it's probably worth examining and improving upon.

Don't let the existence of bad feedback convince you that ALL feedback is bad. Don't approach every note expecting a fight. Don't assume every revision is an attack on you or your work. Find every opportunity to engage in a conversation to discover the underlying issue.

Now, let's ALSO talk about the elephant in the room: The people who give BAD feedback. We've all met them -- The infamous goalpost mover who doesn't actually know what they want, gives contradictory notes, and changes their mind every five minutes. The do exist and you WILL encouter them
