one utility of a terminal condition in an rpg's narrative, when done well, is that "you are sick and getting worse" is a hard thing to quantify. as a mechanic, it does often necessitate being more open. I suppose you could argue ADOM also flirts with terminality in its gradual mutation?

Post anzeigenI keep thinking about terminality as a mechanic in rpgs. or at least, as a narrative element I wish was more often there mechanically. mask of the betrayer is the obvious one, I'd argue that RDR2 is an rpg and counts for its you-know-what, but an arknights rpg representing originium would be lovely
