    People are saying "oh she'll be swimming in AIPAC money," but she already was. She's basically ruined their investment here, absent a full Mar a Lago makeover she is not equipped to run as a MAGA candidate. Trump has *very* specific appearance expectations for woman candidates.

    Even Rogers seemed genuinely startled at their joint press conference. And afaik it's not like he has the juice to offer her any kind of soft landing GOP-side. The entire thing is PERPLEXING if you are expecting rational political behavior.

    The flip side is, the Stevens self-immolation is actually totally familiar territory if you've ever dealt with the rough and tumble of medium to big city politics. Every Philly city council election you have at least one candidate who loses the primary and loses their mind.

    Usually in local politics your most likely candidates for post-loss crash out are the folks who 1) are suck ups who desperately sought leadership approval, 2) took questionable money because it was easier than base building, and most importantly 3) couched their entire identity in their candidacy.
