and to make clear what this means: in a lot of places "they could all show up tomorrow" would require presidential-level turnout or close to it on election day when they've shown no signs of enthusiasm whatsoever in the early vote does that seem likely to anyone?

this is why I've been confident, it's not just "I blindly believe the polls" every data point is telling a consistent story, and that consistent story is "dems and particularly minority voters are showing up everywhere, republicans are not" I would rather be us than them and it's not close

This strikes me as an important distinction between the US and Europe when it comes to the dynamics of right-wing populism. The generation that remembers WWII and the Holocaust is dying out. The generation that remembers Jim Crow is still very much with us.
