Which still messes with my head a bit, even though it’s totally consistent with what they’ve been doing for the last decade plus. It’s just so weird to me that they… don’t even slightly want to learn to actually tell decent stories that aren’t just ideological. They seem to lack the desire!

Yeah. And of course it's bottom-feeding (currently writing an essay about this, actually!) They can only remix existing stories, leech off of the creativity of others.

I think they want to reclaim the narrative on the basis that they think popular culture being biased against “young Western men” is part of what they’re rebelling against. They think that they’re inaugurating a new era of reactionary myth
