    It’s so understandable to feel demoralized to the breaking point by this. I know a lot of y’all are at the end of your ropes over this. But I want you to know that if you ever told a story, no matter how short or long, no matter how unpolished or unpopular, you did something beautiful. You made art.

    I have been one to joke that capital F Fandom as an entity is held up by unassuming middle aged civil servants librarians etc writing tentacle yaoi on our lunch breaks but I’m only mostly joking. Fanfic has always brought people together. It makes them laugh and cry and blush. It’s a love language.

    trust me, I feel so hurt by this situation too. I’ve cried at least 3 times today and can’t focus on my actual work. It really feels like the final insult after enduring so much bs. But I’m stubbornly here to say that if our writing didn’t matter, ppl wouldn’t be going to these lengths to claim it.
