Old model of academic publishing: A few people published papers. Many people subscribed to journals or used libraries and looked forward to reading. New model: everyone publishes. Dreads looking at journals in case someone else got there first, or there’s something that HAS to be read.

Me: Ahh! new “almost-linear time matching algorithm” … can we implement it? Codex: No. It just uses a normal algorithm for anything with less than ~10^(30000000000000000000000) vertices. Me: Oh, my graphs aren’t that big.
