when i was 7 my mom accused me of losing her favorite pair of scissors. she kept bringing it up years later, she found them on top of a very tall bookcase. i couldn't have possibly put them up there her reaction: "haha wow, what are the odds!" my reaction: (all those years of guilt and you LAUGH?)
Ver postalso (not childhood, but whatev) whenever my brother was in trouble, my dad bailed him out financially. i was his favorite by a mile and he still bailed out my brother. but whenever i needed help it was always, "you're too good to need help. i'm helping you by not giving you money." boomer logic.
Ver postmy dad never gave me an allowance, not even for doing chores. he justified it with, "my dad didn't give me an allowance, but when i graduated high school, he bought me a brand new car." when i graduated high school, he gave me nothing. (and he absolutely had the means.)
Ver posttoday is the birthday of our youngest: Yvaine and Danica 3 years ago on this day, they were born under my sewing machine. I imprinted on Yvaine on day 1 and my husband on Danica on day 3. (they're 3 days old in these pictures) happy birthday, angels 💜
