This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.
Show PostAnd yes, there's always some vandals in the crowd. But yesterday, during the march, nothing major considering the sheer mass of people moving through the city. It was truly huge. And fun & moving for the most part. So much energy, creativity and hope. Belief that their actions matter.
Show PostWhat ppl outside of France need to understand is that riot police in France have (progressively) become exactly that. They are used by authorities to CREATE riots. To generate chaos. Macron's government does not want the information space saturated with images of massive protests that go well.
Show PostThe government had been promising images of urban warfare, and nothing delivers better than riling up everyone. And I mean EVERYONE. There's not one segment of toulousan population that wasn't swearing at the police yesterday. Remember this is rugby town, and the other party wasn't playing fair.
Show PostWalking back from the bogged down march, in a shoot off march, I ran into neighbors and other acquaintances, all really pissed off that police had trapped them. Sat down in a café, and again, very negative sentiment towards police gassing & charging willy nilly. People were just trying to leave.
