I've participated in A LOT of marches in my lifetime. And I can't stress this enough: the creativity in these student protests is off-the-charts cool. I've honestly never seen so many witty signs & references. And this contrasts deeply with the State's archaic monolithic violent response.
Show PostQuick feedback from the march yesterday in Toulouse. Gassed as of the start, police were super charged even before things got rolling. Then, the march went pretty well. Massive. Never seen one that big in my town. Police gassed regurlarly but ppl kept on moving. Lot's of youth, Fun. Then...
Show Postthe march was arriving at it's final destination Saint Cyprien, and riot police started charging and gassing the head of the march. The unions. In effect creating a humungous trap. People stuck on the bridge (pont des Catalans) that was packed. Here, supposed to be heading to the right (gas clouds)

Macron's government does not want the information space saturated with images of massive protests that go well.
