And the devs aren’t the one pushing this rhetoric—it’s some in the press, some in marketing, the LinkedIn weirdos, etc. I’m worried if we frame codev and exdev this way we create a doom spiral of financially devaluing the external labor because it’s the “core team” who matters worst

This “core team” rhetoric is getting really weird. Games that take hundreds of people to make take hundreds of people to make. Just say it! We’re reinventing “QA is in another building and aren’t real devs” from first principles
