The irony is that without mentoring junior engineers you end up with far more brittle seniors who are downright bad at explaining and simplifying things. Pair that with AI which is known to produce Byzantine mazes of code and the results won't be pretty.

I'm going to keep ringing this alarm bell because we are leaving a whole cohort of new grads behind and it threatens to expand to a whole generation. We need to figure out how to train people to work in an AI first company and we have not figured out how to do that yet.

Anthropic does not hire junior people and doesn't know how to train new hires into senior people and this problem is already being replicated across the tech industry.
