Show PostObviously Webb shows a lot more detail… so is there anything in Hubble’s UV image that tells us something that Webb doesn’t? I.e. is there an advantage to doing any UV imaging anymore?
Show PostThanks! Super interesting
Show Post4/ activity. According to the following study, the interaction between NGC 1512 and its neighbouring blue compact dwarf galaxy NGC 1510 has triggered star formation activity in the outskirts of the NGC 1512's disk and enhanced the tidal distortion in its arms. Show Post3/ the galactic nucleus) and a ring much further out in the main disk, called, counter-intuitively, the inner ring. The two rings are connected by a bar of bright stars and by dark lanes of dust. The galaxy appears to host an extensive UV disk with at least 200 clusters with recent star formation
