Yeah, idk if it's fair to call XB inspired by FF12. In conversation maybe. But whenever the comparison is brought up, to me it feels more like trying to think I a popular jrpg people have played and using it as a frame of reference. What XB gameplay is most inspired by is MMOs with tab targeting.

I don't think so, FFXII is still action menu-based while XB is an active cooldown system. It'll feel weird in the sense that you'd be playing a more recent game and going into an older game but their systems are different enough to not feel like an evolution of the other
