I met a guy with a '64 Lincoln Continental who got it because an old timer walked by his garage and saw him working on a newer Lincoln (this guy has a HUGE Lincoln logo tattooed on his forearm btw). Anyway the old man asked, "You like these things?" and the guy said, "I love 'em. Do you like 'em?"

crazy shit happens though. friend got a free leica and hasselblad from just some guy. was out shooting, old guy saw him, they got chatting, he was like "hey you want to see my cameras?" and invited him in. let friend take whatever he wanted since he was too old to shoot anymore

the bad thing is everyone else does it now so the old days of crazy deals are gone for film stuff, at least in tokyo. but for digital it's still pretty good since people aren't locusting the AB- x mount sigma zooms
