Yesterday's VIX upwards sudden jump, on not that much SP drop really, can be explained as a short squeeze. However, we shouldn't forget that the VIX short pressure is a long time there, and in previous SP drops the jump didn't happen. A sudden nervousness arises apparently in the AI fantasy world.

After partial options expiry, the market seems to have found anew its inner bear. There is more expiry at close so a recovery is not too be dismissed, but the movement bodes ill for next week. The trend is out of AI and into defensives, with Mag7 hilariously considered defensive for the moment.
