He does go visit his sister in secret sometimes and he will be part of many heroic fights, but he will be treated as a pariah, at least for some time until the rest of the Amani choose to forgive him and he redeems himself for the things he did to them.

He is still answering only to Zul'jarra, but he rules with the Island and he could bring the Children of Ula'tek and call on her power in time of great need for the Amani (and their allies), but otherwise the power is too volatile to constantly be used. He is an exile and the Amani leave him be.

In my world (and the only world on this blog), we don't kill Ula'tek, we imprison her, and Zul'jan stays partially cursed and decides to amend for all the wrong he did to his people by remaining on the island to guard her and to take care of the Children of Ula'tek that got cursed along with him 💚
