The expected time for BEV to go from 20% to 80% fell from over 40 years to around 26. As we know, subsidies buy speed, not the transition itself, and they only work if given time, until BEV share is high enough. So dear Latvian friends: don't end programs too early. You're not there yet.

Seconding what Jaap is saying here - especially about the parts suppliers. For many of them, the makers of alternator, fuel pumps, gaskets, spark plugs, timing belts, etc. the EV is an existential threat. It is a transition for OEMs but for the mittlestatd parts economy it is far more dangerous.
