I just can't fathom these people in America who openly proclaim they would gladly rather pay an extra $10,000 if it means they don't have to pay $1 for someone else.

They would rather pay private insurance companies more money than it would cost to get unrestricted care with no prior authorizations and no networks for reason unknown. I did find that some people thought that Medicare patients were restricted to what they referred to as “Medicare doctors”. 🙄

I think, ebisback, the basic problem is that Americans have been inculcated, since the early 50s, by the "red scare" of communism and they are either ignorant of, or refuse to accept, that societal efforts for the common good are NOT designed to pave the road to becoming a "dirty pinko Commie"!

Maybe we need to rebrand and call it Taxpayer Funded Healthcare, it’s a simple reallocation of our taxes from military complex to people.
