The mysterious hard rock on Mars the rover drill failed on has finally been classified: Gabbro. The white component is Calcium Feldspar (plagioglase feldspar, anorthite, CaAl₂Si₂O₈) and the black component Iron Pyroxene (Fe(Si,Al)₂O₆). 4min Marsguy video about it: youtube.com/watch?v=_ZXv...
