Car-centric double standard #468: billion-dollar freeway projects get approved once, then engineers repeatedly berate folks who question them saying "we approved that 20 years ago." Million-dollar bike projects are repeatedly subjected to do-or-die votes every couple years.

In 2010 I moved from Copenhagen to Leeds. I still haven't got over the shock of how a major uk city can be so failed by its shitty infrastructure. Goes a long way to explaining how Leeds is so fragmented- outwith the city center it feels more like an agglomeration of villages than a real city.
