It's YouTube, you can go watch whatever cancelled person you want, no one is going to know. But that's not enough, right? People need to be reassured that doing this counts as being a good person, mainly because there's probably not much else to count

There are a lot of reasons it's discouraging but I think one is that these kinds of comments signal the limit of someone's commitment to solidarity, and that limit is "being continuously socially validated for the things I was passively watching anyway"
