My kids were 3 and 1.5 years old when the pandemic started, so i didn’t really have a “hobby” so much as I had the job of keeping the kids entertained. It was in a lot of ways a stretch of time I’m grateful to have had with them - I wish the context for that togetherness were different, of course.

I just feel so alienated from a tech industry that no longer seems to hold *any* of the same values as me or care about the things that I care about vis-à-vis computers or software. I know that I'm not the only one, because I hear this from other engineers I respect constantly.
