Depends a little, but yes. Think it took a while for that to be understood but most opponents now get the law has to change. Issue there is many don't want to reopen equality act and the number who care is still far too low - 200ish - and limits on number who will burn capital on it
Show PostI think if your position is "oh I don't think this interpretation of the law was what we actually intended" then you *should* change the law, otherwise have the courage to say you agree.
Show PostYes, I agree. The court said and for now the state has to conform: fine. But you can change that law!
Show PostThe line of "well the court has said..." was just cowardice. Whatever you think on the issue we can't be farming our political problems out to the legal process. The political system is designed to resolve social disagreement, the legal process is not.
Show PostI found the whole thing so unedifying to be honest, from any MP who hid behind it. It's guidance on the rules *you get to set.* You won, with great difficulty, a contest to get the right to set them. You absolutely don't get to wring your hands & blame the legal system.
