Among people I know the issue is why you are in math. Some people are apparently quite happy to digest and improve ai-found theorems. Other people feel like they're being instructed by billionaires to sift through trash.

I think this is a failure of the film, though. Malcolm Harris and John Carreyrou have been pushing back against this because this framing of “knowing the human” is inherently sympathetic and it achieves this by ignoring so many of the hard facts. For one, she chased that public attention.
