I asked a very famous non-fiction author to blurb my book and his team asked me to send in suggested wording. I did, and he accepted and blurbed it, which I’m VERY grateful for but it would have been nice to get his take on the book. 2 other authors wrote their own blurb though

Fifteen-ish years ago, I had a professor who basically wanted us to write a "sample" recommendation letter for him to use. I detested the idea on so many levels.

Yes, this happened to me recently. I chalk it up to the sender imagining they were being helpful with the suggested verbiage, rather than manipulative (so don't take this as an invite to dump on this unnamed person). I felt manipulated anyway. It's not a great feeling. Anyway, an FYI for all y'all.
