Polls show the majority of Michigan Jewish voters voted for El-Sayed, but that has not stopped the endless "Jewish voters concerned" narratives. I'm sure some are concerned. But one could just as easily write, "American Jews embrace Muslim Senatorial candidate in display of American pluralism."

Hello!! Very thrilled to say that I'm writing a book about the ADL, the history of American Jewish politics, the decline of the center-left Zionist consensus, and today’s new political moment. So grateful for the support of my agent and editor and many friends, family members, colleagues, & readers.

I don’t think there’s a lot of actual evidence that American Jewish voters en masse are about to defect from the Democratic Party tomorrow. But I do think the largely false perception that American Jews are so eager to switch sides because of self-interest is bad for the community.

But what is the upshot then, people can’t have I/P preferences for their elected representatives? Or can’t be dogmatic about them? I think the key intervention has to be vs. the discriminatory application of these ideological positions by identity, not the holding of them in the first place

Anti-Black racism in New York is something that needs to be confronted, and it is reasonable to expect the mayor to have a plan to confront it, and also, there is absolutely no reason to define it as opposed to fighting antisemitism, which is also part of the mayor's responsibility.
