that’s right. After reading this article more, I think it’s right-wing garbage made to discourage the idea of consent education. Because even agreeing with the points made, the solution would be to give more consent-based education earlier in life. Not less.

this article somehow criticizes the sex education only in blue states as contributing to the problem of sexual assault… Meanwhile, plenty of red states teach abstinence-only education and we’re supposed to believe that prevents sexual assault better??? I think this article belongs in the trash

Teaching that consent matters and selfishness is bad go hand in hand. “Consent” isn’t just a process to be checked off, it’s teaching that communication matters because YOUR PARTNER MATTERS. Sex isn’t a conquest, it’s an activity between two people who each have desires that matter. Teach that.
