I’d argue it’s “not just about” because it really is just about dissociative holding places that pretransition people end up in and people excpetionalize that as if the film doesn’t explicitly create an experiential link between that and getting one-tracked into a unfulfilling suburban lifestyle

yeah i literally will recommend it in the same sense as an antidepressant like you will def feel the psychological benefits (or not!) before the physical unless youve got one of those rare genetics in which case you probably are trans and your body is like slurping it up like milk

almost everyone i know who's nonbinary has at least tried hormones and even the ones who decided that wasn't for them found it to be a positive/illuminating experience
