I don't know how many people worked for months to put together Nocturne, which lit up streets, buildings, and people's faces across Halifax tonight. Nocturne brought out hundreds, maybe thousands of people: seniors, parents with babes in strollers, teenagers out with friends.

Tim Houston made not like the arts, but clearly thousands of people disagree with him. They came out into the city and enjoyed art, shops, restaurants, bars, and each other's time. In a way, it was a big and quiet "fuck you" to Tim Houston. No one wants the AI data centre. They want real art & life

I do know that Nocturne, like many other arts organizations, had to do more with a lot less this year. You know what else? There wasn't one fucking AI data centre in sight. Just real art made by real people and enjoyed and appreciated by even more people.
