DS9 is the best Star Trek and it's not even close.

Yeah I have a soft spot for TNG. I grew up on it, it was my “Sunday school” morality parable and is the world I’d want to live in. But DS9 is hands-down better art and television.

Different Zeitgeists. ST:TNG was all Perestroika, Glasnost, and optimism about the new world order once the Cold War ended DS9 is gritty after everything in Eastern Europe went to shit, particularly Bosnia.
