I choose not to cut off my parents, but I certainly don’t blame anyone if they feel they need to. My parents didn’t raise me right (a child should never be a ‘mediator’) so keeping them in my life I view firmly as my own choice. Sometimes though I wish they didn’t make me regret this choice.

Parents will say things like "I brought you into this world and I can take you out of it" and wonder why their children don't want to talk to them once they're old enough to leave. And that's a mild example. (yes, before anyone asks, I did hear that growing up).
