I have a small contribution to this collection (two articles on Auckland Writer's festival, interviews with Briar March and Chris Pryor & Miriam Smith, as well as an interview of me by Tim Wong circa JAKE), but that is honestly the smallest fragment of why I want everyone to know this is back.
Show PostTim Wong, with the sturdy support of Brannavan Gnanalingam and Alexander Bisley, brought some of the best arts writing this country's ever seen to the table. AND he made one of the two key films on Kiwi cinema. He never got the praise (or funding!) he deserved at the time. I hope he gets it now.
Show PostTim Wong is a total hero! Lumière is such a joy. Thank you!!!
Show PostIt is really chilling to see how quickly Black, Caribbean, and African writers and academics have become the global face of AI use and accusations of plagiarism. For such a serious charge, @vauhinivara.bsky.social's article rests on...a Pangram scan. www.theatlantic.com/books/2026/1...
Show PostSimbarashe Kundizeza won the Caine Prize this year. The author of this Atlantic article wrote that it *seems* Kundieza used AI, based on one Pangram scan. There is no comment from Kundieza. Are AI-fueled accusations lowering the bar for journalistic ethics now? x.com/TheAtlantic/...
