Hi #weekendsingles was just going through one of my old singles boxes and found a load of old flexi discs stashed inside a Gary Numan sleeve!! Never easy to play these things was it?, I could never find a penny to stop them sliding. 😀

Four from The Fortunes: their first mid 60's successes at Decca, then their second wind at Capitol in 71/72. "Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again" was a US hit, but flopped here while "Storm In A Teacup" did the reverse. Both perfect pop singles for me. #WeekendSingles

The remix of the b-side of the second Houston 12" is horrible. The levels - particularly the vocals - sound wrong and a compressor is over used and doesn't compensate for the state of the mix. There's a wooliness as well which with the level pumping gives it a feel of Dolby NR expansion. Urgh.
