One very clear and observable example of how Twitter changes you has been the wholesale normalization of the r-word. People with PhDs and adult jobs now use that word openly because it’s been normalized by their tenure on X

A thing that knocks me out of a story is when there's a dip into long back story too soon. Either a couple lines of present and then the how we got here, or just plain starting with history lessons. Because usually the dip back is a summary, not a scene. I want to be engaged and immersed in now,
