A Tesla Roadster weighs 1.6 tons empty. Just to hover in place takes 16 kN of thrust, 20% of a fighter jet engine. If it's ejecting gas at the speed of sound, it needs 46 kg/s, just to stay in place. In 34 sec, it's used more than the car's entire weight in fuel. Gas jets will not make a flying car.
