tbf this is more of 'Red State Blue Dots' than Dems like to admit. I think the 'sympathetic to Republicans' is more of a structural issue of material conditions being tied to Republican style 'competence' for white liberals. This is part of why Massachusetts has traditionally had GOP Governors.

They were never empowered by them, same way they weren't in MA past a certain point. The Romneycare has finally hit terminal headwinds starting next year and Private Business Rackets / Property Value is now virtually the only wealth creation vehicle left in the State. This was the endgame by GOP.

So we're all clear here heading into Nov: Even if The Dems manage to flip The House (Doable) it changes nothing about the current arrangement. Dems in The Senate are the cieling for any proposal from The House, and even if they somehow manage a majority on paper; They'll find Manchin & Sinemas.
