I really wish I wasn’t currently very, very close to this exact situation. 46, lost my job two months ago, still can’t land anything, have a bucketful of medical conditions I’ll struggle to deal with if I don’t have decent insurance. I am trying very hard to be calm and keep going.

I sent in a VERY long-shot application for a job two days ago with a banger of a cover letter since it’s not in my normal field. I desperately want the rejection to include something like “we aren’t going to interview you, but mad respect for the audacity you showed here."
