Popping in with a whopping 3 additional spaces filled out! For Vampires I read DIREBOUND by Sable Sorensen, for Curse I read DAINDRETH’S ASSASSIN by Elisabeth Wheatley, and for True Crime I read ALL THE DANGEROUS THINGS by Stacy Willingham 📚 The books were fine! Good distractions while traveling.
Show PostYesterday I indulged in reading TWO books, with #2 counting for the “Blood on the cover” space. For that one, I read ALL THAT REMAINS by Patricia Cornwell. It was my first from the Kay Scarpetta universe and I see the appeal but don’t think I’ll go out of my way to seek out more 📚
Show PostFor “Someone Goes Missing” I read WILD DARK SHORE by Charlotte McConaghy 📚 This one was just okay for me! It had a lot of elements I should have loved but it was hard for me to feel connected to the story. Worth a read to see if it connects differently for you!
Show PostBINGO!! 🎉🎉🎉 For “creepy child”, I read THE OMEN by David Seltzer 📚 This was fine! Quick read and I enjoyed recognizing tropes that influenced other books/movies. The one thing that took me out of it every time though was Damien being accused of being creepy because he was mostly nonverbal??
Show PostI am getting close to bingo!! 📚 For the spider space, I broadened it to arachnid so I could count the scorpion in THE FAMILIAR by Leigh Bardugo. My first Bardugo read and I’m open to reading more from her 👀
