I do like the theists who are questioning themselves and call. Those are the most enlightening conversations. And I always hope my fellow atheist hosts are compassionate in the discussion.

Right?? What are the two sides? I thought it was the leadership on the right making their own voters distrust experts and science. Though they are corrupting the media more and more, because a controlled press is necessary in an authoritarian state.

What pisses me off about this "purity test" ist that it's never applied to both parties. Democrats are expected to be absolutely flawless, and when they aren't, Republicans get the vote without any further scrutiny.

No, not irreversible. But it will almost certainly take more than one Democratic term to fix. Which is why I’ve been so insistent that folks stop the goddamn purity tests and vote responsibly in November. We aren’t looking for perfect candidates. We’re looking for better than Republicans.
