A luthier will cost more than your local music store guitar tech, good luthiers are wizards. They take a piece of crap and make it play and feel like a million bucks. I buy high end very expensive guitars but the 1st thing I do is take them to my luthier and then they're even better. It's worth it.

Also, FINALLY facing down that Fmaj chord on guitar... it's... mean. This is the thing that might convince me that I might need lighter strings or a lower action or something. It occurred to me that most other countries seem to go straight to electric and I have NERVE DAMAGE. Why did I go acoustic?
