The most terrifying thing is there's absolutely no way of hiding from this policy. Medical staff will access to trans people's records - there's no 'don't ask don't tell' like there is in other areas. This ensures segregation is enforced.

I also feel people in the NHS actually need to do something to stand up to this, especially those with any power. If your job is to care for people, you must be able to stand up and say when your own patients are being harmed.

It will also lead to sexual harassment and violence against trans people, most especially trans women. It will lead to people skipping operations, getting sicker and also having their care delayed.
