Watching how people end shared meals is interesting. Watching how they treat random people in stores or restaurants. On the street. On the road. Not everyone pays attention, particularly to the small stuff where there is nothing at stake, but more people are paying attention than you might think.

Here is the thing about people. Maya Angelou famously said "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time,". This is absolutely true, but is most commonly observed when something is on the line. I find people’s behavior when nothing is on the line to be even more informative.
