@whpaad.bsky.socialthe full criteria for which CMIP6 models could be used and which couldn't are given in section 2 of the supporting info agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/action/downl...
Show PostThank you. I used to monitor this professionally in the not so distant past. Ask my why I qui;) We lose 2.5% of insect biomass per year in protected forest and nature reserves regions globally. This implies that the microbiome (of the soil) is collapsing - where most CO2 is stored.
Show PostThank you. If these events were a sampling of amounts from a single class of rain events, it might approximate a normal curve on a stationary mean. I was happy for you to point out the variety of classes of producing events, and the size of those classes. And this occurring on a non stationary mean!
Show PostThere are some outstanding questions as to the relative role of CO2, aerosols, natural variability, SST patterns, etc, and why models do not always seem to always capture the observed trends.
Show PostOf course. This is just a broad overview course. About 2/3 of the course is on atmopshere/ocean/land physics, but the last 1/3 is about adaptation and mitigation. This is a natural sciences gen-ed, mostly for non STEM students. And yes, some atmos physicists do want to teach this stuff as well.
