Amusingly because Kings Cross is so big, it is actually 15 minutes *longer* to get to Tooting than it would be if I lived in the other end of the seat, per Citymapper.

I think Tooting would be just about as “foreign” as Hackney. I honestly think most people living in London treat it as a joke. The bits you live in are real, the constituencies are quite fake. North v South is just a bit of fun. Anything beyond zone 4 is probably “not-London” though.
