I know a lot of people are coming to You Can See Everything without a lot of grounding in documentary so I will say this gently, but the way they address it is by putting it in the movie

I watched The Silence of the Lambs for the first time in a while today, and had managed to forget that aside from all the bits turned into instant iconography, this is just an excellent thriller.

So Fielder takes us along for the ride. The result is a kind of documentary I’ve never seen before. It operates on multiple levels, and that the truth isn’t elusive but we want so much to believe in a narrative because narratives are comforting. Truth isn’t and shouldn’t be. It’s just truth. (2)

YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING: I don’t believe for a second that Elizabeth Holmes didn’t know who Nathan Fielder was. They are so desperate to change their narrative that they got a skeptic to tell their story in hopes we would find them sympathetic. And we do. But Fielder knows he’s being manipulated. (1)

The last hour of YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING is bravura filmmaking that I wouldn’t spoil if you paid me. Just incredible and this is going to be a film that I will be thinking about for a long time.
