Yes but as a 30 year old far from owning my own house and probably won't until I'm 40 it's depressing. And most of the savings are from pocketing tax returns, it's not easy and it's is sadly all going towards a new car soon since my current car is almost dead, so I'll be back to square one. 🫠

It is for me, it'll literally allow me to put a down payment on a house. I 3 years of working and I've only been able to save 4k in that time. I mostly am living paycheck by paycheck, so 30k would actually jump start my life...

I actually built and ran a budgeting product for underbanked people and people with low income (along with people with no credit). I saw a lot of data. With consent, ofc. The permanent income hypothesis isn't what you just said and I saw a lot of real world data following the actual pattern of it.

Budgeting is about consistency, not just spending. Set a fixed 'fun money' amount each month to avoid the guilt of overspending.
