y'know I wonder if the reason we see more talk about being sick of trends in game design these days is because everyone takes longer to make games and spends more time updating existing games rather than getting to just make more

i wonder if "contact damage" is going to become the new "yellow paint" where people take a real weakness in like one or two games, blow it way the fuck out of proportion, make a blanket statement that it's universally bad and turn it into one of those "this is what they took from you" grievances
